Beijing

I just came back form Beijing. Well, its quite a nice place. But i really don't miss it...in fact, the only thing i miss is the cool weather which enables us to emit steam from our mouths. I went in a group tour and we saw the usual stuff...summer palace, forbidden city (as that was under renovation...it didn't seem so impressive) , adn some other places of which i can't remember the name (the guide spoke in mandarin the whole way ...thus i was pretty clueless the whole way) we went to the great wall...which was easily the best place we went...(the weather was very cold, we sat this pulley thing up, and my brother and I did a lot of running up n down the wall due to time restraint). We got to experience a -6 degree celsius temperature in Chengde, which was fun, but the food there was...okay la. But the whole thing got pretty boring....i mean, if you've seen one of them temples/palaces, you've pretty much seen them all. Similiar architecture. Just that the histories are all different (however, you may recall my banana status...leaving me no more knowledgable)
Anyhow, we were quite amused by the sign posts the chinese put up. There was this one at the summer palace " the ancient building is renovating. Excuse me for bringing trouble to you." This gave the building first person status. Then there was one " Be careful of your feet" ...actually telling you to make sure you don't step on anything hazardous. Then there was this wonderful sign which went "Please do not throw your rubbish away"...and a sign "No Stay"...ironically...a whole bunch of ppl were crowding around it. and all over the forbidden city...there were signs forbidding ppl to fall...."Don't Fall Down". As much as i shouldn't be so amused with these signs...i wonder if the government's going to do anything about them b4 the Olympics n 2008 Or are they planning to leave them there as a form of amusement for tourist.
Just had my computer fixed today. The technician just replaced my grafic card. I still dont' know what exactly went wrong with the thing...but whatever...
