Hello!
Well, i've had nothing useful to say here the past two months. Not that i do now... except that i wish to inflict this uselessness onto you. (Btw, Happy CNY)
I just felt the sudden urge to blog about something, because i'm now supposed to be busy studying for my Professional Exam 1 and useless activities are so much more interesting at times like these.
Oh, last thursday i had to go for this remedial class cos i failed this subject called "understanding disease epidemiology". Apparently, borderline fail. And the lecturer refused to tell us where we went wrong. Like, how can we improve then??? HOW??? < ))<
Anyway, i'll be voting for the 1st time (!!!!!!) in the upcoming general elections (which is actually less than 5 hours away) and i haven't really really decided who to vote for. Maybe i'll bring a coin into the polling booth just in case.
Yes, i HAVE to mention the GE like everyone else. tis the season... and i'm pretty sure anything close to politics won't ever crop up again after this.
So for PJU parliamentary seats we have BN vs DAP. I kinda like both candidates... and don't really want to see either of them lose. On the other hand, the DUN candidates... I like neither of them. i think they're both extremely unphotogenic =) They look a little...shifty? I can't even take the easy way out and vote for the leng chai one (as suggested by a certain friend..tsktsk)
By this time though, they ALL look like they popped right out of the obits section. green and pale.
So i can't decide because: there're issues. There's the party issue, the gender issue, the representation issue, the face issue, the '...' issue, the units issue and the issue that my medical degree is practically funded by the gov. It's ok. No one is supposed to understand what i'm saying.
ANyway, people are all getting hyped up about the denying BN 2/3 blablabla and all the news (that actually matters, the star is super boring lately) are online and ceramahs and interviews and all that. I've been reading up a bit (informed choice u know?) and i found that...
It's sad to be a BN candidate. Ur hands (mouths) are tied. You can't say what people want you to say and you know what they want you to say. You can't exactly do what people want you do to either. You can't state the obvious. You can't be straight forward. You have to defend your boss...dogmatically.
On the other hand, the opposition can say anything.
Which makes the BN candidates seem...weak. It's hard to gain the confidence of the voters with such lack of ammo.
Anyway, at least i've decided that our goverment has really bad PR skills. I wouldn't know the finer details, but stuff like BERSIH and HINDRAF were quite badly handled in a public manner. Forums and interviews on AlJazeera were nothing short of embarassing. They have this persistant quality of denial and donkey. Then again, maybe they learnt that from Donald Trump... never admit ur mistakes. He fires anyone who does on his show.
Speaking of shows, i just saw the 1st episode of Malaysian Dreamgirl. U know...the online modelling contest where KennySia is one of the judges. I like his blog. But on the show he reminds me a bit of an empty vessel. He makes unconstructive negative comments unlike the other dude. Yea, he's supposed to represent the layMAN but a little politeness and finesse wouldn't hurt (don't have to be THAT layman). But his blog is still a really good read. He blogs way better than he speaks on tv.
And i have successfully digressed from the GE.
Yea, i'm not going to say anything about politics (lest my uni finds out..something about revoking loans and stuffz) because i know next to nuts about it... and should shut up before i say something stew pit, irrelevant and monkey.
It's also time to sleep. Gnite.
