Keeping up with the times

Last monday, my lecturer was telling us how his mother used to have a cup of coffee ready and waiting for his dad the moment he got back from work.

He regrets to inform us that (speaking from experience) this senario does not happen anymore.

And also that women now talk back to the men. how unladylike...tsk tsk

Guys in my class agreed with him wholeheartedly. Shouting and cheering.

It's like the women folk have turned against men. (exaggerated but it kinda felt that way)

Too bad guys...

I assure you its just to keep you on ur toes.

But the guys have also been doing their share of keeping us girls on our feet (literally)

Yesterday, we had a trip to the General Hospital (HKL) and there were only two busses.

So some girls had to stand all the way there (an hour or so) while the guys all quickly parked their butts and slept truout. Should've taken a pic of the situation... it's kinda embarassing actually.
Honestly, chivalry IS dead, buried and being sucked up to use as petroleum.

SO what i'm saying it that...we don't make you coffee, and you don't give us ur seats.

That's the way it is, Mr. Lecturer.

No wonder you were stopping me from reading your post yesterday! This is so untrue on my part. I give ladies my seat when I'm on a sardin packed LRT. Problem is, some uncle or hooligan comes rushing and snaps it up! I'd say this is an attitude problem, not gender based wars...

Unladylike eh =) Can't argue with that one there...

Problem is, the male community isn't some sort of organized network wherein you could just put up new directives that everyone follows.

Its more like...a stereotype of people with loosely similar anatomy but wildly different social values..

But hey, on behalf of them ass-heavy guys, sorry.

Eeee...so cute. I know you do...

Anyway, anon, no need to apologise cos i wasn't complaining about the lack of seats but i was just talking about the way things are and what we should learn to expect from the opposite sex. Besides,i know u offer ur seat.

There's no reason why girls should sit more than guys do.

Well chivalry isn't dead just very rare =P Who's to say that making coffee is a lady's job?If your lecturer had gone to a western country in that era,he would find that most women don't make coffee just for their husbands LOL.Anyway like malicious said its an attitude problem.Guys and girls shoould be equally courteous to each other.

oh dear!

not suprising though is it.I complain about it too much i suppose, am quite jaded as it is.

I have this theory that the death of chivalry occured when gender equality was demanded by guess who..women! So i guess the guys just wants a level playing field.

we win some and lose some eh?!
