I just realised it's Chinese New Year and I shouldn't have left that cadaver post as the top-most post...
Anyway, Happy CNY everyone!! It's the year of the piggy... oink!
So how is CNY so far? This year, we took things a little easier in terms of preperations and all... becAUSeeee heh heh, we all went to Japan with 7 of our other relatives. So yeap, there wasn't much pai nien-ing going on this year back in Ipoh.
Japan was fun. It's the begining of spring there now so we didn't get to see the snow nor the flowers... minor bummer. Went to Universal Studios and Disneyland which were quite fun. But if i had to choose one, i'd say universal is much more fun. The rides are better. Disneyland was kinda tame.
The tour was conducted in Mandarin =(
so i probably missed a lot of the stories and all that. And also, i slept most of the time on the bus, esp when the tour guide Benny was talking. It's like in lectures...
I'm a pretty lucky girl. Going to Japan, i had to skip 3 days of class in uni. and there was an ECG practical which i really wanted to attend. And u know what? the Prac was postponed and cos of that, the other class on Friday was also moved! So i only skipped two days and i get to attend the ECG prac and lecture =)
(that sounded pretty nerdy hor? yay!)
Classes are a bit of a blur now. The lecturer teaching us about the respiratory tract talks so fast with all the medical jargon that before the word can actually sink in to be processed, there's another word to think about. She must be really good at tongue-twisters... it's unnatural.
And we started the Interactive Speaking class for the Muet band 5 and 6 students. The textbook is funny. 1st chapter? "Making a Conversation". First, u must begin a conversation by:
1. greeting and introduction
2. talking about the surroundings
3. making small talk
Then u must also know how to maintain a conversation, by:
1. using fillers such as - well..., i see, oh really?, anyway..
2. disclosing personal information about self
3. something dumb
4. also something like that
5. another one la
6. i don't remember
After all that, u must know how to end the conversation.
1. pre-closure, by giving signals (eg. oh look at the time!)
2. closure
3. goodbyes
So yea, that is how we make conversations in class. and the lecturer isn't a pleasant guy and he just LOVES maintaining conversation (by above techniques) in class dragging the class along.
Okay! going mandi now...cold water!!
