and...i'm STILL dead

So i survived the horror week...

Nearly gave up studying for that last assessment. But managed to motivate myself at 11.30pm and finally started studying. Till 2.

I organised my notes. and i found out...

that i have a MOUNTAIN of notes to study for finals.

I so wanted to take a picture of the notes... there's so so much.

its crazy!!

how to finish in three weeks??!!

it's like..higher than an octave on the piano. (i am NOT exaggerating)

Anyway... went for a HIV campaign at IMU today. Really learnt a lot.

Like, how important it is to keep the virus under control.

In Africa, it's so OUT of control that they've got a whole section of the population missing. The working age group that is.

So they've got the grandparents looking after the grandchildren. And the middle section is either terminally ill..or dead.

When a company hires for a job. They interview and accept 2 ppl. Cos they know that pretty soon, one of em will get KO-ed with AIDS.

There's basically no education there. Cos they can't train enough teachers fast enuff to make up for those dying of AIDS.

The statistics indicate that the amount of ppl living wth HIV around the world, is enough to fill up TWO Malaysias.

Tho it used to be a major problem in Africa. the trend is now moving towards Asia. That's where we are, btw.

In malaysia, there're 20 new cases diagnoses everyday.

So what's the big deal about discrimination? Ppl think that those living with HIV did something immoral and probably deserved it. But really, they're just victims of circumstances. and very much human.

but we can also look at this in a more selfish way.
If we discriminate, ppl HIV+ will try to hide more. They won't go for treatment and will dissapear into the crowd of non-infected ppl and the virus will spin out of control.

At least if we know, precautions can be taken.

Treatment for HIV is actually pretty good now.
I always thought there was nothing much to be done anymore. But there're meds that can really suppress the developement of AIDS and that's really promising.

There's a whole lot more of stuff that i've learnt. But it's either already gone from my mind...or hard to explain here.

Anyway, i hope what i've learnt today will stick forever. Or at least , until the next campaign to get refreshed.

I should study.
