- Get into the organising committee - you won't have to pay for ur ticket (if not, at leAst get a discount)
- Get a date who is ALSO in the committee - for similiar reasons as above ( guys are expected/supposed/wanting to pay for the girls...apparently a social rule of which i was oblivious to)
- Forget renting a tux, wear ur new year clothes and say that you're trying out for the 'Best Dressed' (or Worst Dressed, for that matter) award.
- As for flowers, hmmm...just decorate some cauliflower and tell ur date that her mom can cook it for dinner (looking up the health properties of cauliflower might help) - maybe you can get some 'practicality' points.
- About 2 weeks b4 prom nite, go into a sudden/exaggerated health regime and convince ur date to join you. Say stuff like 'toning the body' or 'sweat is sexy' anything lar. Then maybe the both of you can jog to the prom together clutching cauliflower - since ur date's a committee member, you may be spared this desperation cos she might have to be there early. Then you jog alone. - saves petrol/cab fare.
Please note that this can be renamed as : 5 ways to get the ladies to hate you.
Believe it or not, this was concocted in the car with my mom and brother. My youngest brother however, said that in the case of a prom, he would 'break the piggy bank' rather than adopt any 'How To..' s. The pest can be so sweet at times.

Dear Yuen,
Why is he worried about proms now?? hahhaha....real start huh?
cheers!
Bondi : hahaha...nah, he's not worried about himself. He's more worried about his family members for coming up with such embarassing stinginess.(btw, what's wit the 'Cheers!' at the end? it sounds so cheery!)
Jon : Hmmm...so you've said b4.heh heh... But i don't believe in boycotting functions.
You and your mom are just so..'terror'. Would never have expected such ideas! ;)
